ABOUT TABOR FILM FESTIVAL Four
years ago, a small group of pecularly enthusiastic people was working
on a plan of creating a new extensive cultural and subcultural event,
which was to take place outside of the croatian capital. Hrvatsko
zagorje, a provincy rich in history, turned into the location of the
event. The event was placed on two separate locations within Hrvatsko
zagorje, one connected to the other by a small 5km long road curving
around some hills of Zagorje. Tabor Film Festival, using its film magic, attracts the illusionists. We are initiating our festival adventure for the forth time, because we aren't taking the trodden paths. The importance of the castle of Veliki Tabor for our festival lies in its timeless, surreal dimension which it provides. There's a lot more to Veliki Tabor than being just rocks and old, respect evoking architecture; it contains a spirit easily felt in every single rock, which attaches us to the past times. The castle inhabitants; people together with the small animals, pointing out few romantic bats, and a lonely owl, also contribute to the impression. Throughout the centuries, many noble families came up to Veliki Tabor, drawn by the magic rituals from the time of counts of de Chili; wanting to surpass death and to become immortal. Does the festival attract with its old appealing castle? Good film? Or is it a desired way to immortality? In order to make the event complete through all 5 days which it includes, a satisfying amount of substances has been prepared, coming from the depths of inexhaustible sources of Zagorje, and extracting all the pain and mortality from our bodies. One is the most curative thermal water, which was always approachable to everyone, regardless of their status. As an alternative to drinking it, it gets absorbed by the skin. The magic water is followed by the liquid of life, which slides down the throat and extinguishes all the thirst, coming from the earth and being made in cellars. Generally known as wine. Let there be film, wine-water and immortality! |
