Goran Škofić exibition

30, June – 8, July, 2018 / CASTLE VELIKI TABOR

Goran Škofić (Pula, Croatia 1979) experiments with media manipulation and performative actions in the fields of video, photography, film and spacial installations. His actions often feature one individual or a group of people and are a mean of ‘documenting’ social deformations and absurdities of contemporary life, as well as its problems. Very often he himself is the protagonist in his works. Social control, manipulation, lack of authority, social aspects and absurdities of everyday life are constant topics of his work, sometime interpreted through a humorous form. Having graduated from the Arts Academy in Split, he continued his art and research work through residencies in France, Switzerland, Belgium,US and Brazil. His works are regularly displayed on exhibitions and festivals in Croatia and abroad. Some of the more significant exhibitions in the past two years include solo exhibitions at CZKd Pavilion in Belgrade, MSUi in Pula, MKC Gallery in Split, Milieu Gallery in Bern, Dix9 Gallery in Paris, as well as group exhibitions at Wroclaw Museum of Contemporary Art, 25th Slavonian Biennale in Osijek, and 51st Zagreb Salon. Some of the more significant awards include the Oktavijan Award at 11th Days of Croatian Film, Radoslav Putar Award as the best young artist, and Grand Prix at 51st Zagreb Salon.
