A father takes his son to an abandoned factory where he once worked. The building has long been reduced to a crumbling symbol of the new system. Nonetheless, the space will briefly be brought to life by recorded scenes of workers solidarity, inspiring a small gesture of defiance. That symbolic act will turn into a moment of catharsis and re-establish the relationship between the father and son.

Author’s mother Vesna and she is in her late 40s. For the last seven years she has been living and working in Germany. Her life seems stable and monotonous, but there’s another side to it. Through this autobiographical video diary, the author documents the moments that reveal the secret that her mother and she carry within. In a somewhat voyeuristic manner, the film portrays disbanding of the family that never had a chance to come together.

It’s Mirta’s birthday and this is how she wants to celebrate it. After a failed attempt to have some sexual fun, everyone becomes dissatisfied and search for the beach becomes uncertain. Mirta has a chance encounter with a naked man by the river. The search culminates when Višnja refuses to continue looking for the beach.

Ivan suffers from schizophrenia. After he goes missing from his family home, his brother Jakov decides to start filming Ivan’s life and treatments at various Croatian psychiatric facilities. Most of the footage was taken secretly, in order to expose the brutality and inhumanity of the treatment at these institutions.

This film is the director’s attempt at reconstructing Albert Camus’ The Stranger, which she read 12 years ago. With time, the memory of the book has been reduced to fragments and atmosphere, which the director tries to provide with a context in an effort to evoke the original.
